Erin & Dondi's Wedding

This past Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing my first wedding. Gorgeous weather, beautiful couple, colorful fall foilage, and a wonderfully pleasant and fun group of people - it couldn't have been a better experience!

Fellow photographers at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops this summer advised me to hire an assistant, after I informed them I was shooting the wedding by myself. Thank goodness I heeded their warning - there is no way I could have been in two places at once. As much as I would like to clone myself and run around getting all the necessary shots, it's not realistic. I'm glad I silenced my stubborn streak and bit the bullet!

A malfunctioning flash the morning of the wedding required me to make an emergency trip to Best Buy to purchase a new Speedlight - not the high quality one that I wanted, but with only hours before I was contracted to start shooting, I couldn't be picky.

Luckily that was the most of the technical difficulties we had to deal with for the day. The tedious process of editing down 2,500+ images has now begun. The first two edits have been completed, and we still have over 1,000 images....

Hopefully my post-processing workflow will get better with each shoot...right now it's just a little overwhelming trying to figure out the best way to weed out the keepers from, well, the rest.

I'll try to get a few images up here when the editing is completed.
